The Jeffrey Fox Memorial Fund was established in 1999 by the students, colleagues, and friends of Jeffrey Fox, PhD to honor his life and long-time career in the Department of Molecular Pharmaceutics at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy.
During his tenure, Dr. Fox mentored numerous PhD students, offering guidance that extended well beyond the classroom or laboratory. His door was always open, his advice always thoughtful, and his belief in his students unwavering. His influence continues to be felt across the department and the broader academic community.
The Fox Award
The Fox Award is presented annually to a graduate student in molecular pharmaceutics who exemplifies Dr. Fox’s legacy. Award recipients are selected based on the following criteria:
- Academic excellence
- Service to the Department and the University
- Support and advocacy for fellow students
Recipients are nominated and recommended by their peers—reflecting the collegiality, generosity, and student-centered spirit that Dr. Fox championed throughout his career.

A Donor-Advised Fund offers the opportunity to create an easy-to-establish, low cost, flexible vehicle for charitable giving as an alternative to direct giving or to creating a private foundation. This is accomplished by first establishing a DAF with an irrevocable donation to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program. The donor then recommends the allocation of the donated assets to a qualified public charity (such as the University of Utah).
