Materials Science & Engineering Development Fund

Materials Science & Engineering Development Fund

Support for the Department of Materials Science & Engineering allows us to continue our efforts to discover and develop new materials that underlie technologies used to develop energy sources, protect the environment, preserve the national infrastructure, cure diseases, and improve communication.

Materials scientists apply the principles of physics and chemistry to the design and development of new materials for engineering applications. They continually upgrade the use of basic materials that will fit the highly technological world we live in. Since virtually everything we use in our daily lives is made of materials, the need for materials scientists and metallurgists outpaces the ability of schools to graduate students.

The John and Marcia Price College of Engineering is a primary source of creative education, research, and technology and is a vital asset for sustaining and growing the Utah economy. No matter the size, your gift will support students, fuel innovative research, retain world-class faculty, and build state-of-the-art facilities.
