Children’s Dance Theatre

Children’s Dance Theatre

Originally created by Virginia Tanner in 1949, Children’s Dance Theatre (CDT) has grown into an internationally recognized company of 200 young dancers, ages 8–18. CDT is the major performing arm of Tanner Dance, producing and touring high-caliber annual concerts at professional venues. CDT presents a new work each year with original choreography, music, costumes, and stage design.

The company performs annually at the Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre, numerous elementary schools, and other venues throughout Utah, which includes free matinees for more than 6,000 elementary school children. CDT is the second-oldest performing arts organization in Utah, and with your support we can continue providing opportunities for children to find their voice through dance for years to come.

Contributions support weekly classes and preparation for performances, including free matinees for elementary schools. Because of you, children throughout Utah will have opportunities to experience professional dance and art.

If you would like to make a greater impact, we invite you to set up a recurring/monthly gift to this program. Recurring gifts aid in providing consistent funding for resources that are not covered by tuition or external funding sources and enable us to plan for the future with greater financial stability and flexibility.

Let's make a difference together

We can inspire through art and dance.
