The Jeffrey Fox Memorial Fund was originally established in 1999 by his students, colleagues, family, and friends to honor his life and long-time career in the Molecular Pharmaceutics Department at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy. The fund was formally endowed in 2026.
During his tenure at the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Fox mentored numerous PhD students, offering guidance that extended well beyond the classroom or laboratory. His door was always open, his advice always thoughtful, and his belief in his students unwavering. His influence continues to be felt across the department and the broader academic community.
The Fox Award
The Fox Award is presented annually to a graduate student in Molecular Pharmaceutics who exemplifies Dr. Fox’s legacy. Award recipients are selected based on:
- Academic excellence
- Service to the Department and the University
- Support and advocacy for fellow students
Recipients are nominated and recommended by their peers—reflecting the collegiality, generosity, and student-centered spirit that Dr. Fox championed throughout his career.

A Donor-Advised Fund offers the opportunity to create an easy-to-establish, low cost, flexible vehicle for charitable giving as an alternative to direct giving or to creating a private foundation. This is accomplished by first establishing a DAF with an irrevocable donation to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program. The donor then recommends the allocation of the donated assets to a qualified public charity (such as the University of Utah).
