Our goal at the John A. Moran Eye Center is to provide the best eye care available while finding better treatments and cures for blinding conditions, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), glaucoma, cataracts, and cornea and external eye diseases. With more than 40 ophthalmologists, 13 optometrists, and 34 research faculty members, we have specialists in every field of vision care and research.
The John A. Moran Eye Center supports 16 research labs and centers, where internationally-awarded faculty, including one of the world’s top retinal teams, are developing the treatments of tomorrow. The Moran Eye Center has ranked as high as seventh in the nation for National Institutes of Health funding.

A Donor-Advised Fund offers the opportunity to create an easy-to-establish, low cost, flexible vehicle for charitable giving as an alternative to direct giving or to creating a private foundation. This is accomplished by first establishing a DAF with an irrevocable donation to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program. The donor then recommends the allocation of the donated assets to a qualified public charity (such as the University of Utah).
