The inaugural Master of Legal Studies Scholarship is designed to support and recognize outstanding students pursuing a Master of Legal Studies (MLS) at the S.J. Quinney College of Law who have demonstrated exceptional academic merit, leadership potential, and a strong commitment to advancing justice and equity within the legal system. By providing this scholarship, we aim to empower individuals to pursue their legal education and become change agents who actively work to promote fairness, justice, and equal access to legal resources and information.
About the Master of Legal Studies Program:
The three-semester executive Master of Legal Studies program immerses students in the law and the intricacies of the US legal system. Our students build a strong foundation for working with and understanding law and regulation—without the cost and time required to earn a JD.
The MLS program is offered either online or in person at the S.J. Quinney College of Law on the University of Utah campus. We believe that education is a powerful tool for change and that access to legal knowledge can empower individuals to become advocates, leaders, and agents of social justice. Whether through working in advocacy, policy reform, or community legal services, scholarship recipients will be equipped with the legal expertise to make meaningful contributions to society.

A Donor-Advised Fund offers the opportunity to create an easy-to-establish, low cost, flexible vehicle for charitable giving as an alternative to direct giving or to creating a private foundation. This is accomplished by first establishing a DAF with an irrevocable donation to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program. The donor then recommends the allocation of the donated assets to a qualified public charity (such as the University of Utah).
