SCHOOL OF DENTISTRY
The School of Dentistry was created to provide the state of Utah and its region with a leading dental educational institution, one that is fully integrated into the state’s educational flagship. The school provides exceptional students with access to outstanding dental-related clinical, research, and health care training and supporting resources at a reasonable cost. It also ensures that patients will receive state-of-the art care, and that the science and technologies of oral care will advance.
The school is committed to exemplary care, leadership, and innovation while providing patient care and educational opportunities at other sites. The school integrates teaching, research, and clinical care, each at the individual patient and community levels.
Philanthropic support has recently provided opportunities to begin implementation of a few of the dean’s vision priorities. First, valuable scholarships were established to support dentistry students. Second, a fund was established to provide oral health care for families in need.
The School of Dentistry has identified the following funding priorities for the Imagine New Heights campaign:
- Endowed scholarships
- Student lounge, library, and recreation
- Endowed chairs for faculty
- Endowed fellowships for junior faculty
- Oral Health Assistance Program
- Clinic chairs in outlying clinics
- State school collaboration
- Patient care and research
- Integrated health clinic for people with special needs
- Dental specialty programs
