UTAH MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS
The Utah Museum of Fine Arts at the University of Utah is the region’s destination for global visual arts. From ancient objects to the latest contemporary works, the UMFA galleries—reimagined and remodeled in 2017—showcase the breadth and depth of human history and creativity. The museum’s collection of nearly 20,000 original works of art is the most dynamic in the region. As the fine arts museum for both the state and the university, the UMFA is a vibrant hub for cultural exchange among campus and community audiences.
The Utah Museum of Fine Arts has identified the following funding priorities for the Imagine New Heights campaign:
- An internship program focusing on attracting and compensating a diverse pool of employees that can learn about and pursue museum careers.
- New exhibition publications that will play a vital role in the museum’s ability to encourage appreciation and understanding of art and serve a wider variety of audiences both within and outside of the state.
- Our Art and Wellness Initiative aimed at improving student/community health and wellness, and an Innovation Fund to create new community-based programs and initiatives aimed at challenging museum practice and engaging underserved communities in the UMFA.
- Operating endowments in a variety of areas of named support including: Exhibitions and Programs, Executive Director Chair, Education & Engagement Chair, American & Regional Art Curator.
