College of Pharmacy General Scholarship Fund

The College of Pharmacy General Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to PharmD students with demonstrated financial need and/or academic merit, as recommended by the College of Pharmacy Scholarship Committee.
Scholarships play a vital role in student success. By easing financial stress, they allow students to focus more fully on their education rather than the burden of mounting debt, which is one of the greatest concerns facing today’s students. Nationally, PharmD graduates leave school with an average of $171,000 in student loan debt, according to the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). This significant barrier to entry narrows the pool of prospective pharmacy professionals and directly affects our community’s perception of who can become a pharmacist.

At the University of Utah College of Pharmacy, we are committed to reducing our students’ debt so they can graduate prepared to thrive after they graduate—both professionally and personally. When you give to the General Scholarship Fund, you are investing directly in student success and helping ensure the long-term health and well-being of communities across Utah.

Scholarships make a profound difference to our students:

“My whole life I have always wanted to work in the medical field, helping patients heal and have better quality of life. The first time I discovered my interest in pharmacy was while helping my grandmother organize her medications and vitamins in her weekly pill box. I investigated the pharmacy career and quickly realized it was the right path for me. I am the first person in my family to go to college, and they are incredibly proud of me—even though I haven’t even finished, yet. Being here is only possible because of the amazing scholarship donors who see my potential and have invested in my future. Thank you!”

Let's make a difference together

Because of you, we can support more students.
