Gender Studies

Gender Studies

Gender Studies emerged from a long history of social movements, and it covers a wide range of feminist and queer thought. The field unpacks how gender interacts with socio-cultural, economic, and political phenomena and how these interactions shape, and are shaped by, dynamics of power. It also explores the intersections of gender with race, class, sexual orientation, religion, (dis)ability, nationality, and other socially significant identities. Students have opportunities to study theory and practice, participate in community-engaged research, undertake internships, and lead social change.

Gender Studies offers a space for theory and community-engaged learning, advocacy and professional development, lively debate, and professional skill building.
